A Partizan Negroni Saison. I have no idea where these things come from but I know where they go.

Peculiar idea, but it's really rather moreish. Sadly seems to be the only bottle of it in the beerium.

A lagunintas IPA

I also have a selection of St Peters products in the fridge, and If I'm brave enough a Norwegian Imperial IPA from this weeks travels, 500ml at 10%

And, being Norwegian, costs as much as a decent bottle of single malt?

I had an Erdinger Hefeweizen with my dinner, which was slightly disappointing - I remember it being tastier.

A Sicilian Nero d'Avola made with 10% Frappato (dried grape I think?). Since I stopped buying crap wine & beer in Tesco and have been going to my local friendly specialist emporium, my life has improved immensely. Why didn't I get round to this years ago?

St Peters IPA, not up to the Norwegian yet.

Lidl 'Festbier'. Every so often I succumb to one of their European brews, and am inevitably disappointed, with indifferent results at best. This is really not half bad, especially at 99p/500ml, and works very nicely with my lunch of wurst and potato salad; If there are any cans left next time I'm in I will grab a couple more.

Shared the Norwegian one with my dad, very nice very full flavoured and I doubt I'd want more than one full bottle at a time.

Tonight, Hitachino Nest white ale from Japan. The label caught my eye with a little red bird on it, I've always liked robins.  It's a bit like a Dutch witbier with some spices and a hint of orange. Nice chilled, if any complaint, a bit on the fizzy side.

The beer cellar (shed) currently contains a selection of Belgian beers including Leffe Nectar and Ruby, Chimay, Hoegarden, Grimbergen, Jupiler, Bruges Zot, Duvel, Kwaremont and a couple of others I can't recall at the moment. They are accompanied by a few cases of wine incuding J.P. Chenet merlot and chardonnay, Banrock Station chardonnay, a couple of casesn that I can't recall and half a dozen loose bottles of various offerings.

A trip across the Channel can be very productive

We should be stocking up on Belgian next week, but they will be a bit more cruel & unusual than fuzzy's list.

For now, Muscadet.
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

I use one of those folding Sea to Summit cups when camping, my normal drink is Lapsang Souchong, which over the years has built up an impressive patina on the inside of the cup.

I've just poured some Breton Cidre Artisanal into it.

It's doing such a good job of stripping the tannin stains that I'm quite concerned about drinking the stuff!

Sadler's 'Hop Bomb'. Very refreshing, and went nicely with the salt'n'pepper calamari I've just nommed for starters.

Currently £1.25 a bottle in Aldi, along with 17 other beers on this week's special promotion.

Rhubarb gin.  Bought, not made: by Warner-Edwards, a recent Booths promotion.  I was expecting something pale and delicate, but no:  it's a rhubarb equivalent of damson gin, with a whacking great thump of rhubarb taste.  In a good way.  Very drinkable, dangerously so, with just a splash of ginger ale.

A sort of experimental smoothie - red and yellow peppers, cucumber, chick peas, sweetcorn, pineapple, mango and orange juice.

It's actually rather nice

I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Stella. It's rubbish. How could a country so renowned for excellent beer have got this one so wrong, and it sold so well?
