Lidl do a 200g tin of espresso grind coffee that is actually rather good, especially @ £1.49 for a tin.

Coffee for me. I'm not sure of the brand 'cos it's from a plastic container in the freezer (didn't keep the packet or snip a bit of the label off

I think it's some Spanish supermarket stuff that my mum got me last time she came over here. Knowing her, it's probably cheap stuff but it tastes pretty good, especially when it's made quite strong.

The LIDL stuff I mentioned above is quite good at whatever strength. I'm off there today to stock up. The only downside is it's in one of those tins that don't let tou get the last few grains out and you can't pour them into the new tin.

I'm advised on the Manzanilla bottle to finish it a.s.a.p., so I am only obeying instructions. Being a sort of Fino, it's only 15%, so I'll say it's civilised.

Our local shop has started doing Carlsberg Special Brew in little 275ml bottles. I love barley wine and stronger beers, and thought it'd make a change from the Aromas over Tongham that I usually get. It wasn't bad, but if you obey the "serve extra chilled" instruction, it tastes disappointingly thin. Although fuller when warmed up, it's a bit of a one dimensional taste. I'd get bored if I drank it regularly.

Nice to see them making an effort to move away from the street drinkers market.
