A Stottle of Bella that's 11 months beyond its "Best Before" date. Mind you, a sentence with "best" and "Stella" in, has "Logical Inconsistency" written all over it before we even start.

I am anticipating drinking myself silly in Cleobury Mortimer on Friday at the Kings Head - the Hobsons brewery tap in the town. Their mild is splendiferous. And, entirely by coincidence (really!), there's a beer festival in town as well where they are serving lots of Shropshire ales...

Whitstable Bay Organic Ale. Reminds of taking a pint of it into the cinema when I lived there.

It seems the further you are from Kent the easier it is to find. This batch came from Norfolk where I cleaned out Morrisons in Cromer of their stock.

Nightmare. A rather drinkable Hambleton Ale. I don't know why it's described on the label as a 'winter' ale though. I'm not leaving it for December!

A Julio Bourchon Sauvignon Blanc from Chile. I was going to offer it to my daughter and partner but I seem to have drunk it all myself. Oh well...

You need another trip to Roots. Lots of good local ales. Fallen Angel from the Durham Brewery is marvellous.

Had a good weekend and drank the Hobsons Mild. It's by far their best beer, although the others are more than passable.

Shame the pub was shut for a wedding all afternoon/evening on Saturday.
