I know I suffer if I drink the day before serious effort. I'm trying to get back to the single-glass-of-wine-with-a-meal habit. I find that much easier when I'm seriously cutting fat/carbs out of the diet, for the simple reason that alcohol affects me much more at those times.

Sadly not I, but I gave my nephew his birthday pressies today: one bottle each of: Robinson's Old Tom, Guninness Foreign Export, McEwan's Champion Ale, Youngs - dunno the name, but bottle conditioned; and Marston's Old Empire, the latter of which was the weakest of the lot at a puny 5.7% ABV.

Just for the record, he's 26!

Pushed the boat out today and had a nice lunch at a local café / art gallery after this mornings appointment in town.

Brie and Apple toasted sandwich with Cranberry Jelly, and a nice side salad.
A nice tasty café latte, and a very tasty slice of carrot cake which had an icing carrot on top!

Seems like it's actually Brewdog Hardcore IPA

Crabbie's alcoholic ginger beer.

It's too sweet really, and tastes very little different from non-alcoholic ginger beer. Actually, I think I prefer Fentiman's because it's much more gingery. This stuff is 4% though.
