Many still do not and cannot afford to pay the bill In full every month yet somehow become more creditworthy than those who resist the urge to splurge.   Barking.

IIRC, only individual items costing £100 or more qualify for the cc guarantee.

I use a credit card as an abstraction layer for online and high-value purposes, paying it off within a month.  That seems to keep them happy.

All of them are too small.

A well-known range of hair care products used to package the shampoo inna bottle with a black lid and the conditioner in one with a white lid. Now they both have the same colour lid. I am sure that the probability of picking up the conditioner instead of the shampoo is greater than 50% ???.

Dear Petrol Station

Please kindly be getting a better selection of anniversary cards for our: “oh dear it’s that day again” 6am purchasing needs.

And while you are at it, call those flowers!

Sigh, needs must I suppose. *

* Actually, I went out shopping on both Saturday and Sunday and forgot to get her card. Its going to cost at lunchtime when we go out for lunch!!! So, this is really a grumble at me for being so disorganised. Its not like I haven't had practice in buying her a card!

AA call centre drone: I know it's a shit job and you have scripts and targets and all that, but I made it patently obvious I wasn't going to renew early on, yet still you persisted. To accuse me of being rude was a little strong, I was abrupt maybe, but you need to learn when you're onto a loser, mate.

No, FaceAche, a pub on Eltham High Street is not "nearby" - it's 13km away, as the cyclist rides, including a river crossing.

Bloody "Local Policing Team"

Three weeks ago I emailed to tell them I'd found an MTB (*not* a BSO) in my garden.

Wait a week. Go to Yorkshire for a week. wait another week. Nope. Nothing. No response at all

Emailed 'em again this morning. No response yet.

At this rate I'm going to have a nice shiny few-years-old-but-well-looked-after MTB for xmuss.

On Amoxil for lurgy. Tired & fed up not cycling or sculling, but being just well enough to work. Hope I feel better by Sunday as I wanted to go and see a BHPC race meeting in Hillingdon.

Guy,

Doesn't really address your grumble, but you could post a 'Has anybody lost a bike in [area]?' thread on singletrackworld. I'd guess the chances of finding the owner are quite high...

Not heard of that one.

previous success story

Admittedly a much more distinctive bike (I assume!), but it shows that it can work...

Local police station should also have a normal number for non emergency, probably in the phone book or whatever (or look up as $MyTown Police station.  Works every time for me when contacting them about non-emergency muppetism.

Local coppers number seems to be permanently engaged*, unless it's after 5 on a Saturday afternoon - then it just rings out.

*I've not spent all day every day trying to ring 'em, but 11 times in the first week and 6 more last week.

I've just remembered where I've seen it before.

This means a special trip out in the dark and the cold to a pub I don't visit very often in the hope the person I'm thinking of is there. If it's not his he'll know who it does belong to.

Local Police Team - your communication skills are this: ZERO. ::-)

Yep. Still no response, but that might not matter now.

Oh. And, Biggleswade coppers. What do you do when you open up in the morning? Take the phone off the hook and leave it like that 'til knocking-off time?

Not beyond the bounds of possibility that it's only staffed for odd hours on odd days what with all the cut-backs.  Worth checking teh intertubes to see when/if it is open?

Had something similar once. I was taking photos of some morris dancers, one of whom lost a shoe during the dance (and kept on dancing). The image got 'favourited' by some one with a fairly weird set of pictures on their account (many including feet).

Note to self: you have been back from Abroad, where ther FOREIGNS come from, for well over three weeks.  You do not need to operate on Mountain Time any more.  You are Homo sapiens sapiens (so good they named it twice), not a fucking aye-aye, and therefore not nocturnal.
