http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?lnk=http://peter.chesspod.com/routes/ODepping2.gpx is an alternative suggestion for a route. OD, what are your route plans?

My route: bobbsville (Witham), Retreat Farm (for a quick cuppa with my parents who are there with their caravan prior to us joining them for the weekend), North Hill, East Hanningfield, Billericay, Mountnessing, Hook End (depending on who gets here first perhaps we could call each other when we get here as our routes meet), Kelvedon Common, Stapleford Tawney, Mole Trap.

I am looking forward to it!

I shall park in my normal place up that side road on the western side of Colchester. Wowbagger knows where I mean! I shall meet you somewhere in the park, or in Roxwell Road or whatever it's called...

Is 10am correct?

10am is fine but I'd try Chelmsford instead of Colchester.

Yes, wise move.

Clearly I am trying to eject the entire existence of Chelmsford from my brain!

I'm a 90% for this! All the impending doom (work) has now been fixed, so I should be good to go.

I would offer a spot outside mine, Helen (just off Rainsford road) but there are parking restrictions between 10 and 11am (to stop the suits parking there in the morning and heading to the station)

Anyway, no probs if you have a usual spot...

The usual spot is free of parking restrictions so it's no faff. Assuming I arrive at the correct town!

A very pleasant evening in the company of mid-Essex's very own wombling 77 hour hero.

The Billy was serving 4 ales: Captain Bob (Mighty Oak),  Copper<something_possibly_bottom> (Wibblers), Hobgoblin (Wychwood) and Bombardier (wells).

We started on the Capt. Bob, and very nearly didn;t move off it since it was so nice.  Eventually we chanced the Wibblers Copper<thingy> which was also v. good.  I also tried (for research purposes) a Hobgoblin since I hadn't had one of those from a cask before (unless at a beer festival where I'd lost the memory thereof).

Thepub also did a good line in quite spicy Wasabi Nuts, and sold really, really  excellent "Sinfully Spicy" beef jerky fro the "wilddutch" company.

Phwoar, beef jerky!  Never had that as a bar snack, sounds fab.  Did they have any pork pies?  They're fab too.

That's a pity, bobb. I've just got on a train so should be in Chelmsford in an hour.

I know, it's really annoying. I knew there might be a chance that something would come up and it has. At least I should get paid for it today though  :)

Have a good ride!

On the other hand it's raining, which wasn't on the forecast I saw. We'll see how wet we get.

This Wednesday....?

I'm going out Thursday for a bit of 'training', but Weds is free for socialising.

Tomorrow I shall be doing one of my day time rides if anyone fancies joining me.  I'm getting the 1001hrs train from Marks Tey and heading for Sudbury as I have always wanted to go over the Chappel Viaduct.  From Sudbury my route wends it's way back home via Specialities Tearoom in Stisted.   My average speed these days is c16mph.

Enjoy your ride OD - hope you have saddlebag room - I always seem to leave Specialities with one of their second-hand books.

Oaky - I'll look at a map, but I'm open to suggestions from you or any others.
