The colonials are interfering with my plans of a social life again, only expect me to be at the Spa Rd roundabout if you see me there  :-\

I have a (mahoosive) tarp (and an unused hammock), but no bivvy (but have been meaning to get one...)

I have a team van

That will be counted as cheating.

My cunning plan (date TBC)...

A five to 9 adventure one Wednesday evening, as in 1700hrs (Wednesday) to 0900hrs (Thursday).  Meet up after work, cycling around a bit, have our tea and some form of liquid refreshment inna pub, bivvy down in a pre-identified spot, cycle home the following morning with enough time to do one's ablutions then go to work at 0900hrs or whatever time you normally start work.

Sound good?  Who's up for it?

Has potential - I has an emergency bivi which I haven't dared try out with the slugs and mozzies yet.

Also - when we next doing a coffee morning ?

I'm up for it. Sounds brilliant and practice for me as a bivvy novice.
Been looking at bivvys too (need one for ACME Grand) so this is the kick I need. Would need to know a bit in advance as I work in the big smoke on Weds and there's no way I'd make 5pm start so need to put in for leave.  ;D

If you bring your kindling cap, I'll find a old termite nest and we can light that to keep the mozzies away from you. No idea what you do about slugs.

You don't have to go home for that. You've got a spade!

Back to the 9to5 adventure...

Re bivvy sites, I was wondering about the James Cooke Wood just outside Witham on the Maldon Road.  Or down by the canal somewhere, Beeleigh Lock perhaps?  A recce might be required.

Re start times, folks can join in whenever suites.  We can always use Glympse to help with a rendezvous, its worked well in the past.

Let's not get too hung up on the 5pm bit.  As you would expect this isn't an original idea of mine, THIS CHAP bangs on about microadventures and came up with the 5to9 thing.  Basically its just a little adventure you can do after work and before you clock on the following morning.  Its kinda tickled my fancy, I suppose I should have posted the idea HERE but I have only just remembered the thread  ::-)
