Accommodation near St John's Chapel, Weardale

Ideal for the C2C as it's halfway, vaguely useful for LEL helpers, otherwise of interest to people who like bleak scenery, sheep and the biggest hills in England.

The in-laws own it (my wife has a 1/4 share, technically) and are willing to let it for weekends or full weeks.  The pros:

Very quiet, in a solitary terrace of cottages 1/4 way up a mountain
4 beds (two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge)
Decent (small) kitchen
Co-Op in St John's Chapel - easily bikeable or (less easily) walkable
Near the River Wear, great views
Bathroom with shower, extra WC and basin upstairs
Wood/coal-burning stove and electric storage heaters
Good pub a very short walk away

Cons:

No mains water - it has running water, but it's from a spring and you should buy bottled water to drink
Parking is first come, first served although we've never had a problem
It's on a 1 in 5 hill (but the parking is flat)
The top bedroom, with two single beds, is up a ladder

Contact me if interested - my f-i-l is looking for about £300/week in high season in view of the location and the need to get water in (there's always some there, but you need to replace what you've used).
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.
