Got my first app rejection email from $FRUIT_COMPANY today.

Not sure if this counts as good news in the conventional sense, but I'm quite elated by it nonetheless as it completes my rite of passage as an iOS application developer1 ;D

1 - unfortunately, I can't say exactly why the app was rejected suffice to say it was a) laughably trivial and b) in true $FRUIT_COMPANY fashion, they didn't bat an eyelid at the same functionality in the iPhone version of the app  ::-) Submission guidelines, it seems, are very similar to $HOLY_BOOK - open to many and varied interpretations dependent on who's doing the interpreting.

I finished a bike ride today and thought "that was good, I'd like to do more of that". That hasn't happened for ages.

One day back in late April, Anders wanted to go to the skate park with his bike. I took my bike, too. I stupidly boofed a landing and came down very hard on the asphalt. I dislocated my right middle finger (!), and fractured the third metacarpal bone just behind it. (And no, I didn't land on my hands, but on my shoulder/side/head. I'm still not sure what hit my finger.) Two emergency-room visits followed, plus weeks in a nasty cast during a heat wave, hand therapy, finger splints, etc., etc. Obviously not much riding has happened this summer.

Today I had a follow-up visit at the hand clinic, and the doctor said that I was healing really well, and that I could probably ride again if I wear a wrist brace. So if the summer weather would kindly break, it could be a nice time to get back to riding.

I managed a customer presentation and a flight home with no inappropriate pooping or puking today, which was nice.

I just spent a very happy hour or so nattering to un Francais a un restaurant. At least 80% of the conversation was in French. I surprised myself how much I could remember and he was amazed that I hadn't studied or spoken any French for nearly 40 years.

Maybe you should be an Android developer.  They'll take anything.

Copenhagen is wonderful but The Little Mermaid is about the size of a small 8-year-old. It's on a rock just off the shoreline. Many people are disappointed. You have been warned.

Someone has bought my lemon of a car  ;D

Unfortunately, I've taken a massive financial hit but on the bright side it was bought by someone in the motor trade so there's a good chance they'll know what sort of fun and games they're in for.

Were it not for the fact that I've got a credit card bill to pay off, it would have made a nice downpayment for my Pugsley :)
