Along similar lines to the above, not only did my new temperature-controlled soldering iron turn up this morning, the large reel of Solder of DETH1 turned up as well

1 - 60/40 tin/lead, as God intended. I really hate working with lead-free solder - RoHS can go and pound sand up its arse.

It's taken five months and paperwork coming from places as disparate as Leeds and Thailand*, but I've finlly been invited down by my solicitor next week to start signing stuff for my new house :D

Hurrah! When's the housewarming party? Can I come? Is there a garden for my tent?

Some time in March, Of course, and er - it's a bit gravelly: -

There's a bramble taken up residence in the back corner in the 18 months since they took that picture as well.

Just needs a couple of NCN signs (pointing in different directions) really.

How much does gravel removal cost?

Judging by our gravelled area in front of the building at work, you don't need a special effort, you just bring it indoors onto the floor, and thence into the bin, one or two bits at a time in the treads of your shoes.

(I do the cleaning at work, so I sweep the damn stuff up...)

I've just had an email from someone watching Aus v WI at the MCG.

The sender will be coming to see us on Wednesday and staying a few days.

PS Aus were 66 for 3.

Got my car back from the garage last night, after a full service (including replacing the pollen filters).

Two bits of good news about that:

1) It no longer STINKS inside
2) It goes like the proverbial again.

Either I won 2nd prize in a beauty contest, there's been a Bank Error in my favour or the Tax Credits People have just realised I wasn't lying when I said I earned £very very little last year.

It's great when that happens, enjoy!

I fucked up in the opposite direction by not telling them my son had gone to Uni in September so will end up owing them money instead. If I still had it then it wouldn't matter, but of course it disappeared into the black hole that is my current account

The boiler fired up when I came home from work, so I don't have to go to bed early, wearing a hat.

The geezer who bent the front end of the Pingumobile coughed up, so I can stop stressing about that now.
