We "swapped" half a plum cake and some chat for a few glasses of German bishops' wine, a lunch and a new-secondhand bike for our son, which I have just spent part of the evening fettling into readiness. He's very excited but I need to pop into town tomorrow morning to get a tube and some rim tape to stop the spoke heads poking holes in the tube again.

Provision planning has meant that we have enoufh bog roll to last until the end of the holiday, unless there is a squirt 'n spray epidemic.
It is simpler than it looks.

MrsC got a new job today!   :D :D
The last day at her current job is 1st September, she goes in for a look round the new place on 2nd and starts full time on 6th!

And it's my birthday so bubbly things are cooling down in the fridge!

Good news 1:  After I posted my first rant on Bikeradar (about a London Dynamo rider), I got a response from a member.  This morning, we met on the road, and we had a good chat as we rode from Stockwell up to the Elephant.  Nice understated grey Tifosi.

Good news 2:  A couple of nights ago, I dreamed that I was out for a ride, and a particular yacfer was carried past on a stretcher.  The rest of the dream was my trying, in the face of various bizarre difficulties, to get back and retrieve his bike for him.

The good news is that he seems to be well and posting

First bike ride for over a month (a combination of laziness, work, daughter and post 400km Audax can't-be-arsed-ness).

Time to get back into it properly in order to get in shape for PBP.
