Folded (well, scrunched) into the cup of a bra - not the bra that matches the knickers.  ??? I'm glad to have them back, but sad that now I have to post them to bobb.  :demon:

My dad didn't get blown up in Moscow today. He was on the BA flight that landed just before the bomb and missed it by a couple of mins.

Good news, but I think a lot of people were much less lucky.  :-\

Have you ever tried carrot halwa?  You can probably make it with soy milk.

After fifteen minutes of prodding, swearing and apprehension concerning untangling the mess of spaghetti that lives behind it, my telly started working again.  This also means that I don't have to go out and spend a gazillion quid on a new FBT.

If you want it vegan but 'ghee-like' you could try coconut milk.

I appear to have successfully repaired my dishwasher.  Using the time honoured technique of simply taking it apart and then just putting it together again.

Grand daughter weighed in at 23lb 3oz today, which puts her at the 100th centile for someone 7 months old.  :o

I just read a really touching letter from one of her students to my daughter saying that the student's offer of a place at Oxford is entirely down to my daughter's help and encouragement.

That's lovely, Wow.

My good news: my debit card was finally reactivated by my sodding useless bank (B*rcl*ys) after they'd blocked it, without informing me, for suspected fraudulent transactions.

Last night, I helped Mrs B to compose two e-mails about work issues she's been  hassled about by management, & advised her who to copy them to.

Today, both problems miraculously disappeared! One has become an inter-departmental argument conducted by managers instead of through her, & the other one has evaporated completely.  Mrs B is very grateful.

Having been given the run-around by politically-motivated bosses & learned how to survive it is transferable experience.
