^ rather good, isn't it?

I thought the name Ruth Wilson was familiar. She's the grand-daughter of bigamist spy Alexander Wilson and starred in the docudrama about him.

Thanks! I can watch iPlayer here in Germany but don’t have so much luck with some other channels. God bless NordVPN.

The Comic Strip Presents...A Fistful of Traveler's Cheques on That's TV (uk) at 2310. Channel 56 on Freeview I think. (I've reordered mine, obvs)

Let's see how well it's aged
Seems it's a regular slot. Good. Last night was The Bullshitters, tonight Strike, a tale of the 1980s miners' strike. Peter Richardson plays Al Pacino playing Arthur Scargill. Obvs.

IClaudius on BBC4. I remember watching this series in the mid 70s.

Round this time of year there are documentaries about 9/11.

I'm not suggesting they are worth watching, but they are what I am watching.
It is simpler than it looks.

Well, having seen Annika recommended, we watched the first ep. Apart from the 4th wall stuff being ever so slightly amusing I thought it was mostly shite.

As woofage mentioned that the radio plays are really good.

We saw this when it was originally broadcast. If you enjoyed it try (if you haven’t already) Hinterland.

Is it time to break the law? On Channel 4 tonight with Chris Packham. Very good.

Priceless timing from our government to make it's announcement on environmental policy U-turns earlier today.

Yes, caught up with that yesterday. The programme was a bit self indulgent and will have annoyed many, but every sentiment he described was perfectly echoed in my own head. How long can I watch from the sidelines as we head, Thelma and Louise style, for the cliff edge. I've signed up for JSO Training and will see how that goes, but their protests are no longer being reported in the media so they feel a bit meek to me. It'll be interesting to see what Chris' next move is.

We just watched the first episode (of 12) of Rise of the Nazis on iPlayer. Extremely well done, and fascinating as well.

It is (I'm on 10/12).

I assume they didn't know they'd be making 4 series given that name, and that Stalingrad is done by s2/ep 2 and S4 starts with the Nuremberg trials.

The reconstructions could have been a bit naff but aren't for some reason. Enough (excellent) talking heads and real footage that they didn't overpower, perhaps.

It uses the technique of showing behind the scenes stuff (eg clapperboard, cameras, subjects sitting down and adjusting their clothing) to establish the first contrbution of each talking head per episode, but not to the extent that Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland does. What's its purpose?

I see you you're doing TRotN and OUATINI double as well rafletcher. I hope you have something else a little lighter on the palate as well.

Agree completely re the reconstructions, we remarked on that as well.

As for lightening the mood, well it’s Strictly and GBBO season too. Oh, and Climbing Tall Buildings. A repeat from some years ago, but excellent.

Yes, we did too. Watched it as it was broadcast, until the last episode, we couldn't wait and reverted to iPlayer.
