Win7 network printing problems
« on: 23 February, 2012, 03:41:05 pm »
I now have Windows 7 PCs in a homegroup, with Mrs B's laptop connecting wirelessly. There is a printer connected to a desktop. It is visible from the laptop.

Printing to it from the laptop does not work. No error messages. Print goes into the queue, but hangs up. If it is printed twice, & the troubleshooter is then invoked from the desktop, it states that one print job is stopping the rest, deletes the first one, & it works. Until next time . . .

Printing from the desktop works perfectly, as long as there are no prints from the laptop in the queue.

The Win 7 desktop has replaced an XP desktop, to which the laptop was connected via a network. Printing from the laptop worked perfectly on that setup.

I've uninstalled & reinstalled everything. Still doesn't work.

Printer is an old HP Laserjet 1018 laser.

Any suggestions?
