Velovixen going into liquidation
« on: 06 January, 2023, 11:44:30 am »
I haven't bought a lot of stuff from them, but I'm very sad to see them go. They have built a very supportive community for women cyclists, and I know a fair few who have gone from total newbies to doing audax and gravel biking and all sorts. Surprised not to have seen a thread about this on here already.

I didn't find their stuff actually any good... Overpriced clothing in too small for me sizes.

Stolen Goat do the awkardly-posed adverts in the CTC rag, don't they?  I  can never work out what's going on there.

HK bought a couple of merino jerseys, one of which died within a few months during a 1200 brevet. She didn’t like VV’s response and never purchased from them again.

Still a bad thing that a women-specific cycling company has gone. Some folk need a tightly-focused company to get the kit they want.

I can't say I noticed. All people in adverts are awkwardly posed, as far as I can tell.

I can't comment on the quality, price or service but this seems a fair observation.

I haven't noticed their ads in particular but they do have an awkward name.

I looked at their website a few times, but years ago now.
I was put off by the excessive girliness.
Buy direct from Stolen Goat mind, love their kit

I'm enby and didn't mind their website, and I usually have a low tolerance for girly. I really liked the Iris bibs, and I don't think anyone else in the UK stocks them.

I prefer Cycology for my jerseys, tbh. I'm not a fan of the patterns Stolen Goat uses. Nevertheless, I appreciated VV's focus and the wholesome community they built up.

This.  But I've pointed various people at them over the years because...

Oooo. That is good news. I hope they manage to employ some, if not all, of the staff.
