Apparently the regimental mascot was due to attend the festivities (some kind of long-standing tradition)? Found this rather nice picture:

Slight mystery - Radio4 said during live coverage that he couldn't attend due to poorly paws (no, really). Can't find any confirmation - surely coverage of Pippa didn't distract the media from a sick Conmael?!?
