I did notice one thing, the number of guys who did not like being passed by a woman.  I caught up with one guy who was breathing very heavily, he then upped the pace, I slowed down and waited, then passed him about ten seconds later.

There was one poor guy who fell and did a spectacular somersault in front of me, he was fine though.

I reckon you and I are very well matched for pace - as long as I ride my bike!

Well done again - triffic effort!

Silly boy!
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Well done annie, that sounds like a perfectly respectable time for 7 miles.  I've not quite managed to get under an hour for 10km, so you're beating me anyway (which admittedly isn't saying much!)
Actually, it is rocket science.

53 minutes for seven miles?  That's triffic!  ;D

Well done Annie.  :-*

Probably the noisiest too.  I didn't hear anyone else chatting or  being silly, just me.  Each time I spoke to another runner they seemed quite shocked.  Must have been quite obvious that I was a newbie.

Just seen the results.

I came 124th out of 336 and was the 22nd woman to cross the line.

My time of 53.55 is recorded as 54 minutes :-\ so some 5 seconds between me crossing the line and them making a note of my time I was invisible.  Never mind, I am pleased, very pleased.

Well done Annie, a brilliant time, but it's even more important that you enjoyed yourself ;D

Like you, I didnt know I was competitive till I started running. I LOVE passing yourger thinner people :-[ (And I'm a fair bit slower than you)

Hope you have a nice congraulatory dinner and drink or two this evening.

Thank you Crystal Tips.  I hope that your injuries are being sorted and you are resting.

Dinner, looks like a bowl of cereal and a bar of chocolate, tis all I can think of at the moment, my appetite vanished some time ago.  I shall have a cup of spiced chai.  I know it sounds boring but it will make me happy.  Time for jim jams after I have attacked my push up challenge for the day ::-)

I dont know about boring, chocolate and spices chai sounds mighty fine to me!

You're very keen even thinking about push ups on a race day!

I'm going to the physio on Tuesday, probably will get the steroid injection and take it from there. I have been resting, though going to start this push up lark tomorrow!

I shall be thinking of you on Tuesday then, good luck.

I figured I ought to do the push ups as my lats are already sore from the ones I did yesterday.

Strangely I haven't thought about it being any different to a normal day.  Tomorrow is gym day and I plan to go on as normal.

Good run annie.
I did a 10k fun run some years ago with absolutely no running practice. It took me about 55 mins, so slower than your run and a mile shorter too. I also couldn't walk properly for about 3 days afterwards. I had to turn home early later that day when I went out on my bike too.

Well done my dear!  Have some extra chocolate - it's a miracle recovery agent, so I've been told....  ;)

Why thank you.

Just back from a gentle run and gym session.  Managed to devour my breakfast so know I am ok as my appetite has returned with a vengeance.

I think I will take the rest of the morning off and relax on the sofa.
