Horse chestnuts turning in August

Is this normal? Some of them around here started a week or so ago. It seems very early.
It is simpler than it looks.

Leaf miner and blotch. I think both are on the increase.

They started dropping in the freshly-painted chutney lane on Lickey Road that runs alongside Cofton Park a couple of weeks ago.  They were early last year, but not *this* early.

Leaf miner and blotch. I think both are on the increase.

Also they can drop quite early if the summer has been dry, 2nd half of August seems to be about right for the tree outside my Parents seeing as it has tarmac within 3m on three sides and 5m on the fourth side.

I notice them changing colour in July in Southend. By August they are well on the way.

Sycamores are showing signs of changing here.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.
