I'm trying to build a bike up by re-using bits from another one and using some project bits that are on the shelf.
The frame has a centaur bottom bracket which I measured at 111mm. I've got a campag race triple chainset (bought cheaply in a sale) and I think that these two will go together, but I would like a reality check....
According to the Campag website, the Centaur bottom bracket is:
CENTAUR - VELOCE - MIRAGE - SC-S bottom brackets:
- axle length 111mm (symmetrical)
- for double crankset: CENTAUR 9s/10s - VELOCE 9s/10s - MIRAGE 9s - XENON 9s
- for tubes: diameter 28.6mm, diameter 32mm, diameter 35mm
- chain line: 43.5mm
- for triple crankset: CENTAUR 9s/10s - VELOCE 9s/10s - MIRAGE 9s - XENON 9s - COMP TRIPLE 10s - RACE TRIPLE 10s - CHAMP TRIPLE 9s
for tubes: diameter 28.6mm
chain line: 45mm
If I read that correctly, then as long as the seat tube diameter is 28.6mm (which is highly likely this being a proper steel frame) then a 10 speed race triple will fit and be in the correct posiition?
The rest of the drive train is going to be 9s Shimano, but I don't think the chainset will notice!
