In the process of explaining what a hub was to a friend and tyring to find a diagram, I found this link:

I thought they were really nice diagrams and thus worth sharing.

Reminds me of when we did 'Technical Drawing' in school.  I got a Grade 1 CSE in Technical Drawing.

But I wasn't allowed to do TD for exam.  Probably because I wasn't very good.  But I knew it'd be useful for what I wanted to do - engineering (yes, we still had some engineering left in 1979).  And probably also because it meant I'd have had to drop Biology, for which I was a dead cert for an A. :(

Fabulous stuff. I seriously considered that kind of illustration as a career but sadly I really didn't have enough talent. I am so jealous of those that have.
