Even our ancient TV had basic two-channel audio output (it also had an entire movie theatre for little people inside). The new LG doesn't though. It has about 55 HDMI sockets and – mysteriously! – a PCMCIA socket, presumably in case 1998 calls (ok, I googled and it's a thing for paid-for TV, but I'm tempted to dig out a 28.8k modem card and see if I can call 1998). Some USB, an ethernet port, speaker connections, digital sound out, and a paradigmatic funkblender.
