My Luxe Megahorn pointy tent suffered a snapped pole during last Tuesdays high winds.
We’d just pitched it at a site in woodhall Spa and felt rather smug about it as we’d done so while most people were either fighting to hold down their large family tents or were packing up and getting in their cars. No such fear from us as we’d used the same tent in worse weather last year in the Hebrides.
Then, about two hours after getting the tent up the main pole snapped in two.
I guess I could have scavenged a broom handle and made a splint with it and the zip-ties/electrical tape that I always carry however as my brother lives just 40 miles away I called for a rescue.
Now that I’m home I’ll write to Luxe Outdoors as hopefully they’ll send me a free replacement after hearing of the failure.
The photo below was taken the night before in rather more clement weather
