No idea, but it reads like an updated version of Cluedo.

I think that murder may have been one of the few crimes that the singer involved had not been knicked for. Still a towering musical influence though to many.

James Brown indeed. Old James ran his business from an office block in Atlanta. James had his own private toilet, the holy of holy crappers. Convinced that someone had used it he burst into the office next door during a meeting and demanded to know "which of you mother fuckers used my toilet". Then he started blasting holes in things with a pump action.

Horrible, horrible man

(Brown not Zoidburg)

Saw him live once and I've never seen a backing band look so despondent and bullied.

Ahhh there's a story to that as well.

When you see James Brown point and then whirl on the spot to face stage left or right you see him make a flashing signal with his hands.

That means he is signaling to a guy with a note pad in the wings that the band member he has just pointed at has missed a cue or chord and will be fined by however many times he flashes his hands.

One hand - fifty dollars

Two hands at once - hundred dollars

Two hands flashed twice - two hundred dollars

And so on...the Godfather Of Soul was a mentalist - and I haven't even got to the part about the police chase through 3 states.

I never did like James Brown.

Whatever happened to... Leon Trotsky?

Obviously a bit late for this one but I just wanted to mention that I couldn't read the question without singing the next line.  ;D

While Sgt P thinks of a question, excuse me while I jump in with a quick and easy one:

Which member of which 90s indie band went on to form which other band named after a pro cyclist?

I reckon band #2 is probably the Delgados but the names of any of their members and/or predecessors are a mystery.

Alun Woodward was in something else before he was in the Delgados, but I only know them as "the badn he was in before the Delgados: :-\

I guess technically Mr L has given a correct answer, except that he didn't give the name of the earlier band - I'd forgotten that the Delgados were actually named after Pedro. In any case, Carter/Abdoujaparov is the one I was thinking of so Bobb takes it.

According to allmusic.com, Alun Woodward, Stewart Henderson and Paul Savage's band before the Delgados was called Bubblegum. Never heard of them.

Dunno... but while we're waiting for Bobb to finish off in the carpark, and confirm my answer I'll set my question:

What was the exact cause of the marital breakdown between Level 42 bass player and extreme gurner, Mark King and his Dutch wife, Pia?
