I think the answer to Jaded's has been flagged - Brian Eno (played on The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis with Peter Gabriel, partnered Robert Fripp on No Pussyfooting and elsewhere, and is brother to Roger Eno.

Suggest we take Woofage's question as the current one. Even though I don't understand the answer.
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

While everyone is pondering Jaded's Q, here's a quick one:

Towards the end of the video to "Road to Nowhere" by Talking Heads there is an example of stop-frame animation using some unorthodox media. What was that media?

I believe it may have been toast.

There's so much weird shit in that video, I can't even remember the half of it!

Quote
If I'm correct, and accepting that we now appear to have two questions ongoing (since Jaded's remains unanswered) then my question if "What was the name of OMD's 4 track tape recorder?"

That's an easy one - Winston Smith.
Getting there...

It's not Brian Eno!

It is another performer though.
It is simpler than it looks.

I was thinking either Tony Levin or Daniel Lanois, but I can't connect Levin to Eno or Lanois to Fripp!

Of course, no one has mentioned David Bowie yet. I thought of Peter Hammill too but I can't connect him with Lanois

Must be Peter Hammill then.

Yes, indeed.

He has collaborated with each of them.

Sorry, I was off downstairs eating loads of cake and having a self-made mocha!

Note for bobb - Peter Hammill (and in particular his album "Nadir's Big Chance") was a huge influence on John Lydon - so is absolutely not obscure wanky bollox and is completely pop related  ;D
