Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Just finished editing the route from Friday's FNRttC on GPSies for the third time.  Why are all the GPS routing websites made of varying degrees of fail? (rhetorical question).  I've tried various ones over the years, and they all tend to do bizarre things at one time or another.  I must get around to writing my own, that way I'll know who to blame for the faults, and at least it will have a decent editor.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Dying of thirst. Made a pizza with parma ham, goats cheese & campers. Too much salt!
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Is that 'cos the campers were sweaty?

Peering at a GPS track of North Yorkshire, while the words "Fucking Howardian Hills, no one told me about those. There was a 17%. That's like, fucking chevrons" echo in my brain...

I remember thinking exactly the same riding back from Pickering on the first Whitby ride.

That isn't on a route for a ride on Saturday is it?

I'm guessing that the 17% bit will either be the drop down into Hovingham, Caulkey's Bank (between Hovingham and Nunnington; it's a bastard of a climb) or one of the Castle Howard rollercoasters - it's amazing how many people get caught out by those :)

Sitting on the 17.40 from Fenchurch St having just finished the fig rolls. I.m also admiring the idyllic pastoral scene that has been painted on the bog door. Pity it still stinks of shit.

Due to some problem or other this train is being sent round the Grays loop. We've just been overtaken by s Eurostar train.

Still here but going to bed soon. Currently being delayed because I'm watching (cylindrical) Bessel functions getting excited in the remain of my beer pitcher by the ship's engines

I'm going slightly mad.....I must be 'cause I've sent off an entry form to Mike Wigley to do two Peak Audax Perms
The Full Monty 300
LLanfairgogo 400

 :o

all this may be over-ambitious but my recent 200km has given me a bit of a boost & these Perms will provide an incentive.

I've also re-discovered the CTC BCQ & am planning on bagging Ticknall & Marston Montgomery (Derbyshire) in the near future

Additionally I shall be sorting myself out to submit DIY Perms from home.Travelling to start venues will be increasingly difficult soon.

Ooh, well done

For those of us thinking of touring round there next month, how long did it take?

2 1/2 hours from the campsite at Applecross. I did have a few breaks but the 24" gear was not used :-)

I can't remember if it was harder coming up the other way or not.

There is SO much info it's almost difficult to see the wood for the trees.I reckon I'll be able to ride 200km quicker than I can sort out a DIY .
