Being impressed at the good-natured way that my boy's are sharing the chocolate bowl.

Right, flapjack done (both sorts).  Coffee cake done.  Better go to the shop and then crack on with the Mildenhall cake and the scones.

Having a rest before putting my suit on and cycling off to sing in a concert.

Relaxing in a X-country HST heading back north after an awesome day playing
God Signalman in Bodmin General.  Time off for good behaviour -
the "Responsible Officer" said that she'd take over the signalling for the
last train of the day, and the putting-them-all-back-in-their-sheds after, so
that I could catch an earlier (and much faster) train back to Derby. I had been
there since 0745, having arrived on the Sleeper from Up London.

[GPS woke up just as the Sleeper was going through Ealing at midnight last
night. So I mentally waved at Charlotte & Julian.]

One other trainee signalman came into the box just about then, asking the RO if
there were any spare days.  So I said "You can have the rest of today"!  He'd
had a bit of a set-to with his other half, leaving the house with the words
"I'm going down the railway".  :o

(I think I quite like being single.  Maybe someone can prove me wrong.  Please?)

Then the train crew let me have a cab ride!  So the Brompton
got folded into the Guard's Van, and I went up the sharp end.  It certainly
made me feel part of the family.

In the interval. I've just seen Teddy Taylor in the audience. I'm almost tempted to tell him 'come back, all is forgiven!'

lots of train-related stuff

You know, I've had an absolutely bloody lovely day of baking (from about 10am until about 6.30pm) whilst singing at the top of my voice and dancing round the living room then a fast (almost even by other people's standards) blast to Stamford Bridge to meet the Moors and Wolds audaxers and feed them scones and cake and coffee and flapjack then an utterly delicious night-time wander back the wiggly way home where I had a good gossip with my sister and her partner who were babysitting.

But right now, what I'm doing is feeling very slightly jealous of Rower40's day  :)

Sitting here wondering where this bloody rapture is. I could do with a bit of rapture.

Perhaps I'll have some more toast.

Sitting in Wick railway station. As they won't let my bike on the train (4 pre-booked) I may as well use it to eat lunch out of the wind... :(

Right, after several hours of head scratching, recompiling of kernels, and general fiddling around with settings, I've got the networking to accept that there is something else more exciting than Loopback out there. ...

... so now I'm sitting back with a warm glow, knowing that the server is again working fine!

It's been shoved back into the cupboard, and is busily updating itself with about a months worth of data being pulled across the network (it'll be a couple of days before it's finished, there's a lot of data).

The new quad core CPU is blindingly fast compared to the old Pentium one.  A typical processing task that took around 30 second, now takes 9 seconds, and that's something which is only running on a single CPU.

The web server no longer brings the entire machine to it's knees when it's got an exceptionally complex script to run.

Yay for new(ish) powerful CPUs!
Actually, it is rocket science.

I am rather unwisely enjoying a really nice bottle of wine after having had very little sleep for the past 3 days (on nights). There is a distinct possibility it will render me unconscious at some point soon. I must attempt to molish a meal for my sprogs before this happens!
