I am procrastinating. I have delayed going out for a ride with the dogs for 3 hours now because the sky is a nasty shade of grey. So far it hasn't rained. As soon as I go out it will though! Meh.

Seething

Just seething, that is all

Looking out of the window at precipitation of truly biblical proportions.

The forecast currently says it'll have stopped well before I need to go home.  Fingers are crossed...

Building up a parts kit for the Flight Model and Flight Spare of a power supply we're supplying for a mission.

It's not that expensive, so probably only £20000 or £30000 worth of components. :o

I've just counted out 72 1µF capacitors, gods this is tedious. :-\
Actually, it is rocket science.

That was a match and a half. Shame about the result.

Don't worry too much about it - changing your number of pre-pay units for the next billing cycle is but a quick IRC/email/SMS/phone/carrier pigeon conversation with support.  You don't have to say shibboleet either (though they are trained to recognise it).   :)

I went with 7 units for now, and will add more when I see what I'm using

I just mowed my lawn. I have recently suffered from a run of bad luck lawn wise where every single time I've been home and free to do it it has rained or just been raining. It was long enough that I had to turn the mower over about 4 times to clear the moist grass from the shoot into the container. I often wonder about getting a sit on petrol job. My lawn isn't hugely big but mowing it gets really boring when it takes over 2 hours!

They can be surprisingly high-maintenance.

If I was picking animals on the basis of living-lawnmower potential, I'd probably rate geese over sheep.  Although they can make rather a mess...

Geese also tend to eat things like slug, snails, and other beasties which will eat your plants, so they have that in their favour over sheep as well.

I just realised that for one of the components I'm digging out from our component store, I previously used the wrong (newer) devices for the QM (Qualification Model), so I'm going to have to use a mixture of new and slightly older components for the Flight and Flight Spare Models. :-[

At least I can use this as a justification for improving our component recording system (which is bloody god awful at the moment). :-\

Geese would probably end up holding you under siege in your own home, vicious bastards that they can be.

Eating your plants, though, that's one in favour of goats...  (Also handy if you have SCSI hardware to jibble)

Well funny u should say this, I used to have a herd of 13 free range guinea pigs who mowed to lawn constantly to within an inch of it's life and fertilised as they went! Unfortunately my current dog population would eat them if I got more!
