I no longer buy the stuff, because if it's in the flat I just eat it straight out of the jar...it can't be good for me...  :(

Did you know the recipe varies for the country in which it's sold so English Nutella liquifies at cooler temperatures than Italian?

I suspect that HP sauce on ice cream might not be as bad as you fear, given its sugar content...

After all some people put mayonnaise into chocolate cake...

I have some ice cream in the freezer. I also have some HP sauce. Maybe I'll give it a go for my dessert tonight  :P

Foul stuff.  Contaminating perfectly good chocolate with nuts should be a crime.

You don't seem to be able to get proper chocolate spread without some sort of nuts added these days. >:(
Actually, it is rocket science.

Nutella used to come in handy jars that made glasses IIRC.

I wish more products would do that.

As a kid, I loved it. Now I have a nagging feeling that it's just chocolate flavoured margerine. The way it glistens unnerves me.

A quick look at the Sainsbury's website reveals both Cadbury's and Sainsbury's chocolate spreads, neither of which contain nuts...

They still do it in those glasses. At least I've seen them in India (where presumably the Nutella has a still-higher melting point) but nowadays I find they contain too little Nutella to be worth buying.  :-\

My guess would be

1 - Heat the milk up
2 - add Nutella and stir
 ;) ;D

Still does in Italy. Most of our tumblers are nutella jars

Still dooes at Edgware Sainsbury's. I now have enough 200ml glasses and buy my Nutella in 400g or 750g jars.

I have a Nutella jar with a screwtop lid at home, after a recent rediscovery.

My particular favourite, though, is the stuff you get in France which is half nutella-equivalent and half white stuff. Getting the perfect quantities mixed on a wodge of fresh baguette is snack heaven. I wonder if they stock it in my local Sainsburys...
