Sunny and 12C outside; has to be done.    ;)

Anyone had a BBQ this year yet, or is this the first?  Nom, nom, nom...

Never really "got" BBQ.  All that effort for burnt food (I'm leaving aside the US style BBQ of slow cooked pork bits etc).  Life's too short...  and I have a grill and a griddle pan.

None of the food I cook burns...   ;)     To be fair it wasn't a full BBQ experience, as I was the only one outside for the duration and we ate in side...   I suppose non-smoke flavoured griddle/grill is healthier, but the 'occasional' BBQ (braai!) is a must in my book.

If the foods burnt your BBQ technique is not up to snuff.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

To me, the proper BBQ experience needs at least one or two days notice.

Not really practical at the moment, in this country.

So instead you get the burnt outside. raw middle sausages and burgers :(  (literally)

Not if you do it properly.  ;D The burnt/raw thing is (a) disgusting and (b) unnecessary.

Had the first one since December on Sunday. Wood fire for coals - don't hold with paying a fiver a bag for charcoal. Pork chops with garlic, cumin, oregano & paprika. Some sausages. Cheese and onion sarnies cooked over the coals. Salad. Red wine. Simple and yum.

24th of Feb was our first one (I know a hardcore fire enthusiast, we ate indoors!).
