I don't have a spare fat stick (they say 8Gb!) to try this but it claims to be a portable OSM with GPS-puck hookup, ideal for netbooky types who want an offline map.  It's part of their FreiTonne stuff, most of which is on OSM for sea charts, but ought to work for lubbers too...
