BN: THe bike's still attached to a turbo trainer

Oh well, getting there steadily.

FROM HARRY WEBB'S PERSPECTIVE:

BN Sir Cliff Richard to be questioned by police. Singer flying back from Portugal to be interviewed by detectives. Pop star denies  allegation of historical sexual abuse involving boy aged under 16. Officers search his penthouse in Berkshire.

GN Police prosecuting less than one in three rape cases.

Can I just be pedantic and point out that the police don't prosecute? So if the 'i' is saying that it's peddling misinformation...

It didn't look much like a penthouse to me either.

Hurrah!  I've lived in Larrington Towers eighteen years almost to the day and never had a visit from a Jehovah's Witness
Bah!  Until just now

He wanted to get me to go to some do they're having at the Excel next weekend but sadly I shall be in either Colorado or Guantanamo by then.

Bloody Jehovah's witnesses banged on the door at around 10.30 last Saturday morning but did not ring doorbell.
I was home alone and reached door after they had scarpered, leaving leaflets.
Good thing David was out as he is usually still abed at that hour.
We probably get visits twice a year, being only around three miles from Watchtower House.
I have left a review on GoogolMaps.

Were I to want ripped jeans, I would do the ripping deliberately, rather than let the Towpath Bike have any say in the matter.

But I don't want them, because I'm fifty.  I don't want jeans that expose most of my trollies either.

Bah!

That Meccano is only held in place by a couple of thin screws.
Maybe it is best to wait until some Bone has grown back to bridge that gap.

You really don't want to break a screw or fracture through a screw hole.

I was hoping that between my last x-ray (which is nearly four weeks old) and now this would have been happening.

Methinks if you had an X-ray at this point, it would only show tiny wisps of new bone betwixt the fracture ends, or less.
X-ray appearances do lag behind fibrous union but realistically, an adult mid-shaft humerus takes around three months to join.
The metalwork is doing a lovely job of holding things in place and allowing lightweight activity.

I really wouldn't chance it, sorry.

There was almost nothing bridging the fracture gap in my then 9 year old brother's forearm when they took him out of plaster 26 days after his injury.
I was mortified that they were leaving him unsupported.

I told him to be sensible.
He was.

(Brother is 19 years my junior. I took him to Fracture Clinic as Mum was working. I had worked in Orthopaedics for a year at this point.)
