I'd like to believe someone was doing an audax on that BSO (respect!), but I suspect it was just J. Random Customer's.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Mike Dayton and Ian Hands near Leasburg North Carolina on Saturday.
It's hot over there, and what better to keep cool than an AUK PBP shirt, or an Adrian Hands shirt, especially if it commemorates your Dad. Photo by Tim Lucas

A bit of a diversion. a couple of pictures from the Mersey Roads 24, so hoping for a placing.

Call me Ishmael.

Call me anything you want, I'm done in.

It's a shame about the Hi-viz reflection - that 3rd piccie would be awesome.

(The 2nd one still horrifies me.)

I might try to tone them down.  Here's another chirpy one

Here's a La Vie Claire jersey too, to satisfy Damon

"chirpy one": Not a great advert for the food you were serving, Mr B.

My mate Nick from WA wasn't having an easy ride at LEL. It doesn't rain that much in Perth. He was much happier at both PBPs in 2011 though.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

That's Riccardo Gravina, he features in the PBP 2007 and LEL 209 DVDs. He turned up at the campsite at PBP 2007 without a tent or Karrimat, so we lent him both, then we fed him, then he announced that his back wheel was knackered about 2 hours before the start. So I spent the time I should have been preparing, changing his cassette onto Heather's wheel. He's a lovable chancer.
At PBP 2011 he wandered into the pre-departure meal, wild-eyed and looking to borrow a bike so he could ride along, he said he was living rough, and doing some courier work, but he was obviously a bit out of it. I last saw him waving a flag made from a bin-liner and a bit of the shrubbery just at the start. I'll have to find out what's happened to him.

I remember serving up the slop at Alston and wondering how human beings could eat that stuff.

The season continues in North Carolina. It 's nice to know that someone somewhere is eating filling station pasta and staring blankly into space.

Oy, how did you know what I was having for supper?

(... it's not just for Audax, a Cup Noodle is for life ...)
Actually, it is rocket science.
