in Sennen Cove.  Any ideas what it is?  It really tried hard to get on the flower, fascinating to watch.  The place was also covered with butterflies.

Also known as a Maybug, they are really clumsy, we had one in the bedroom once, it kept flying into the wardrobe and never thought to change direction.

Looks like an Aster of some sort

On the Brevet Cymru a few years ago I was besieged by Maybugs just after dusk on the road from Llandovery to Brecon. They don't half hurt when the hit your face.

That's not our native one. It's a Yank, a Mary queen.

I was once hit by one of these things in the eye whilst cycling!

Needless to say I crashed.

The cockchafer was unscathed unlike me or the ancient Phillips all steel three speeder I was riding!

I personally found none of them mysterious, odd maybe, close to fruitcakes possibly but never odd...

As that one is still alive it couldn't possibly be John or George so it must be Paul or Ringo....  Was it reading Thomas the tank engine stories? :)

S'funny you know, because although I couldn't be sure, I could have sworn it was trying to communicate with me...  :)
