Yes it was bit on the chilly side on the way back. Our food was good and beer even better.
Sometimes I just need to make time to get out and last night was well worth it. Thanks for the motivation.
I surmise that Deano opted for TPE then?
We'll go northwards but may drive up to NTR in that case . It was a 50 mile round trip last night.

ETA: I almost forgot "Tonight, Matthew, I am going to be Casper the Friendly Ghost". You had to be there :)

I've got photos to upload, I'll sort 'em out when I'm back from audaxing.

Aye, I caught the train back. Cyclists travel free on TPE (well, they do when the guard CBA to come and check tickets and it's only a ten-minute journey).

It was still 50 miles for me - Dalton was a bit far.

Here you go:

And some photos from my nearly-all-offroad route down:

The so-called track between Frigidale and Birkby:

Crossing the Wiske:

My route through the rapeseed, which turned out not to be the actual bridleway. I still got through, and the lads at the other farm were mostly amused.

Who's in for this week?

Thursday looks like it will be ok, weather wise, before rain etc on Friday and over the weekend.

I know Deano is off on his travels, again, but anyone else?

I will take the comments about last week on board and find a different location, slightly shorter route.

That train to Durham at 11pm might tempt me down sometime, but not this week.

Just myself and Dave on Thursday just gone. A fast ride out to Maunby, beer and food was had. Even faster ride back, including a give way sign sprint up the rise to Warlaby crossroad.

Looks like next Thursday will be a nice evening, so who's in? I shall work out where we are going based on who is attending.

Sorry if I missed you asking, or forgot to reply!

We leave THoFC between 18.30 and 19.00, dependent on a) people getting here and b) destination.

Again, dependent on destination we ride for between 1 and 1 1/2 hours.

Eat drink chat, return, usually dependent on when people's trains are.

Usually back in NTR for between 21.30 and 23.00.

As no one has expressed an interest, I shall shelve tonight's ride and work a bit later instead (I am on a day off tomorrow and need to get caught up on something before I leave the office).

Back next week, usual time, usual place :)

After a couple of weeks off, due to illness, we should really get back to this.

Anyone free for this Thursday?

not this week (last rehearsal before concert tomorrow, and I've missed the last two owing to cycling in Mallorca!), and next week we're heading to Chatsworth ready to start the Bruno200 on Friday morning! Eek!  :o

Anything doing over the coming weeks? I'm now both free from my tyrannical overlords and semi-fit, which is nice.

I should be free this Thursday night as well.  A social ride would be lovely.  I'm dead slow, mind.
Milk please, no sugar.

This Thursday is deffo on, as are other Thursdays.  After last Sunday's 13 mile ride with DAve (NOTP) I have realised that I am not as poorly as I thought...

I'm down for whatever. Next week is probably better for me, if I had to choose. Any day. Let's do something.

Dean - re: Durham ride - I'd be very keen for that too.

Tuesday can work for me, I need to WfH next week, on Wednesday, so will get to have a lie-in.

So, to recap, Thursday this week and Tuesday next (9th and 14th).

I will send you an email.

General plan is:

1) Get on bike
2) pedal
3) stop at pub
4) drink beer
5) repeat 1)
6) repeat 2)
7) get home (or to train station)....
