We went to the Fox Covert in the end. The King's Head was alright, but, well, it was a bit like visiting relatives you haven't seen in years - "next time you come, you should probably call first to check we're in". And I reckon he should have spent longer cleaning the pipes - the Magnet wasn't the best pint I've had.

The Kings Head was Odd. And I say that as someone whose measure of Oddness is, in itself, Odd.

Mr Smith very much enjoyed his evening. I doubt whether he'll enjoy his morning quite so much, and I suspect he'll be glad there's plenty of coffee in the house. I think I prefer the drunk driving at 5mph tandem descent of Maltby Bank than the sober it'll be fine brakes are for wimps option.

Dunno what you're talking about - I'm perfectly fine this morning  O:-).

Also - 35kph on Maltby Bank, thank you very much - even with you braking! You seemed less enthusiastic about my AndyC impersonation as we were trundling through Nunthorpe though.

Yes - I very much enjoyed our evening.

Anyone for this week? I can only do Thursday, due to work commitments.

Open to destination.

Ditto.

How about next Wednesday? It'll be south, though, routechecking an alternative finish to the DKTTR 100. Possible pubs are the Dog and Gun at Knayton, or the Buck at Maunby (depending which way we ride). Does anyone know whether the pub at Borrowby's any good? It's never been open anytime I've ridden past.

At the very last minute I decided to ride out to Knayton and I am glad that I did.
Good food, beer and good company. Got home about 20 minutes ago .
Excellent antidote to work.

Yes, it was a lovely evening and great to see you, madcow.

Talking about next week, as I was with Deano, I think we will do a ride starting at Darlington station, heading east. I can do either or next week as I am off work on both days.

Wednesday only for us, too. If I can escape work in any kind of reasonable time.
Hutton Rudby for Parmo, or further south?

What's the chances of you landing up somewhere I can get by train?

What is this foolish talk? Bicycles?

Actually, it really is foolish talk at present since, completely aside from the absurdity of me actually riding, I haven't actually got a trustworthy one at the moment.
