VPN connection, Ubuntu 10.04

I have a work laptop running Windows XP. This has a short cut on it to allow me to connect to the server in the office from home. I can then connect to network mapped drives. All good.

I have a machine at home, running Ubuntu 10.04. I tried setting up a VPN connection on this, using the built in VPN client.  I copied details, as far as I could see, from the XP VPN connection. Click the box and it says "VPN connection 1 active".

But I can't see how to browse to the network drives.

What blindingly obvious thing am I missing?
