Enjoyed the 2nd special 'Wild Blue Yonder', some funny moments too.
That was MUCH better. Ep1 passed an hour without irritation, whilst Ep2 is probably the smartest (or least worst!) SF-y story line from RTD. (who never seemed to understand the ethos of SF, let alone Dr Who. except when he was stealing an idea that had been done twice as well in some 60s/70s novel).
The 2-on-2 scene, as a verbal, quipping battle was great. One of the moments with the ... let's say "
grotesque"-looking aliens was inspired use of CGI to do something genuinely funny AND sinister.
[ It was almost good enough to distract me from the poor overworked orchestra, who are forced to play something to accompany every second of the modern DW era. /whinge ]
