And I'm celebrating Swansea City's first trophy in 100 years.  Almost makes up for my proper team just missing out on a trip to Wembley (Gainsborough Trinity 2, Wrexham 1,  3-4 on aggregate) in the FA Trophy semi-final.

Too much of a fairy tale for Bradford to get the silver, but the gate receipts may prop them up for a while longer.  Swansea were the quality team on the day, and made the most of it.  Congrats to a team who have battled to get back up from the lower divisions, and have shown that they deserve their Premiership status.

I won the Judges' Prize at this year's Bangor Open Art Exhibition. Even better, they accepted both drawings that I submitted.

My left knee appears not to have noticed that it's done an equal share of a 30km ride with my right knee.
No post-ride pain as was not the case previously.

19 days at work left. Since you ask. And my Thorn Sherpa arrives tomorrow.
Besides, it wouldn't be audacious if success were guaranteed.

I have just agreed a quote.  To all interested parties - in the not-very-distant future you will have to stop using the hideous leaky fake leaded light windows as your point of recognition for the Den :D

Bu66er!

Just how on earth am I going to recognise your house now? First you get rid of the satellite dish from NASA, then you change the door colour, now you are getting rid of that window... :)

Maybe I should get the Cubs to glass paint a Lion muriel on the wondows when they're installed....

Or, I suppose, one of these days, perhaps, maybe, I could finally put the door number back on.

On Wednesday I wrote a letter[1] to an engineering firm requesting copies of some of their historic drawings. Today I got a very nice letter[1] back advising me that they were more than happy for me to have access.

So soon I may actually get sight of the original plans for the cutting we are redeveloping and discover where the drains go.

Yay!  Is the sofa getting replaced in the process (on account of the Dirk Gently issues involved)?

Well, the sofa is going - for exactly that reason.  I like getting Rid of Stuff.  Replaced would involve getting More Stuff.  It might take a while...

Opened the orange and ginger today.  Mmmm.

Yum.

My daughter forgot her dad's birthday so she sent him a birthday haiku she'd made up instead.  You have to know him to truly understand how completely hilarious that is.  The man who screamed at me for half an hour for buying a book of Emily Dickinson!

Yep, she's turned out all right  :smug:

Thursday night and I'm now off work until April 3rd.  Hooray!
I'm a bit stuck in Brum until Monday 'cos I thought I was doing a ride on Fri/Sat but hey!  No matter.  I'm gonna do eating, sleeping, riding to Lidl, drinking, sleeping, more riding, more drinking until Monday when I return to the bosom(s) of my family for a week.

Happy.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I don't have toothache.

Which is nice, coz I did have toothache, on and off*, for three weeks. Hence my general medical philosophy of "Leave it, it'll get better" is vindicated.

*I noticed that it could be fine all morning and afternoon, but come on for no apparent reason about 5 o'clock. What's that all about? Wasn't even at 2.30.

The bike shop have called and they've got a new fork to replace the slightly broken one on my new bike. What's more they persuaded Trek that rather than returning my fork for checking before sending out a new one they should change the fork for me and then check the broken one.

This is much more convenient as I can't wheelie everywhere for a week.
