3D images - anyone for anaglyphs?
« on: 18 April, 2008, 01:11:39 pm »
Motivated by the upcoming release of Bjork's new video in 3D, I quite fancy having a go at this.  Apparently you can do it with a regular camera, a picture for each eye, and some Cunning Software.

I will not do pr0n, honest...

Has anyone else played?
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Yeah, did some test (for 3D generated 3D images) years ago.
In general, it's not worth the hassle!.

If you have a CRT display with a good refresh rate and a top notch graphics card then LCD shutter glasses are much better.

Yes, I've done it. You don't need fancy software - just Photoshop.
It is simpler than it looks.

I've taken 3D pictures, but never combined them into an anaglyph.

HERE is a "wiggled" 3d image taken by moving one camera (very badly taken).

It's easy to modify an electronic remote release to trigger two cameras at once.  But you need two cameras :-(  I tried to use this technique to survey birds at sea

That's a really neat trick (I seem to have crashed it, oops!).

Here's a cross-eye image from just fooling around with Munky:

You've just crashed my brain.  The left and right images of Munky are the wrong way round for cross-eyed viewing.

*fettle fettle*  Here you go!

And you can have a red/cyan one too (I haven't tested this as my cardboard magic glasses are still in the post).  This is all Bjork's fault, you know...
