I'd secretly hoped that The Everyday Uses Of Portland Cement would be something worthy and literary, probably set behind the Iron Curtain.  Depressingly, however…

It was re-titled for British publication (for obvious reasons).

One of my abiding memories was seeing this book title used for a game of charades.

Excellent.  And someone really had fun writing the synopsis on Wikipedia.

I do have "A history of Blue Circle" on my shelves, but that might be because my father worked for them for nearly 35 years.

Same here, different library. Vance was given some quiet advice, apparently. I have it in French as an omnibus volume.
