Fruit flies - how to deal with?

For several months I have had fruit flies in the kitchen.  They may actually be drain flies - they seem to cluster round the moisture in the sink or draining rack.
I have tried putting out bottels of apple juice with washing up liquid, and a bottle with leftover wine. No effect.

Any tips on how to deal with them?

And a tin of Dulux to touch up the paintwork.

ETA - Serious answer: Fly papers are very effective, at least they are on proper, industrial sized flies.
F.Strowger & Co on Norwood High Street sell them.
Proper 'Four candles' hardware store.
Worth a visit, even if you don't need fly papers.

Drain flies are probably just fruit flies near drains.

The most important thing to remember in Fruit Fly Control is that the flies are there because there is an attraction and a source for them to breed. Once the breeding areas are reduced or eliminated, trapping or killing the adults becomes very easy.
