I've recently cut out coffee too. I get mild eczema, and for the last few months I've had really itchy, dry eyes (or rather the area around the eyes). Seems the coffee might have been aggravating it as after a week or so of abstinence my eyes are far less irritated. The good news is - I can continue with the excessive boozing smoking and drug taking! ;)

I was a heavy coffee user some years ago & decided to cut down drastically, which I did.It took me a few days to realise that my overnight propensity to severe headaches was a sympton of drug withdrawal

That's another thing - everyone at work has asked me if I'm getting any kind of withdrawal symptoms (they all agree that I drank a LOT of coffee), and I'm not. In fact I feel more alert than when I was knocking it back. I think possibly the quality of sleep I'm getting without the caffeine in my system is better, and so I feel more awake throughout the day. I'm drinking green tea instead.

I've recently gone to only having one coffee a day, was drinking quite a few up until then, and only drinking decaf tea (redbush), not really missing caffeine that much to be honest.

Roybosch, or however you spell it, is surely non-caffeinated rather than decaffeinated.

I'm really tired now.

Fortunately, I've not had the bad headaches.  But I've been tired & confused and lacking in motivation.

I'm allowing myself a cup of tea in the morning to get started, but it's strictly herbal after that (except for yesterday when I was at a meeting, and the only choice was decaffeinated coffee :( ).

And this morning, for the first time, the coffee machine was doing it's lovely, aromatic thing when I was boiling the kettle.  Pure torture :-\

It seems like a long week without coffee to help me through.

I once asked on this very forum if anyone knew a decent decaf coffee ,the response was similar to if I  had asked where I could get a nice helmet and high viz vest to go with the tax disc on my bike.!!!! So if anyone can advise without ranting that would be nice .I did wonder about a 50/50 mix of caff/decaff as a sort of weaning off ,I dont think green tea is decaf although I might be wrong .

Now, hold on there.

I've given up meat; I've given up drink; I've even given up caffeine now.

But nobody - I mean nobody deprives me of my porridge.  I am determined to get my oats every morning.

Just don't tell anyone how you prepare it, or all hell will break loose.  ;D

Quick google:
Generally, green tea has one-half to one-third thecaffeine of black tea.

So in effect, yes it's decaf!

I drink lots of green (and red bush, mainly to cut caffeine down).

I get a much bigger hit from 'normal' tea (which I drink only as a treat now), and I find coffee has an even bigger kick again.

Good point, time for a pot.

Christ, I must be on a gram on caffeine a day again.
