I was planning on a quick jaunt to The Compasses. No route other than getting there for 8:30ish, a couple of jars and straight back. So long as work goes okay of course! I'm just trying to get miles on my legs, there'll be no TMNH!

1a] Hereward route check and helper's ride tonight with i-cycle otp. There won't be a pub stop  :o....until afterwards.

1b] Hereward - curry Friday evening, wave 35 riders off into the night, cook brunch from 09:00 until about 15:00 Saturday. Watch le Grand Depart on the telly in the evening....

2] Sunday morning I'll be with the wannabees on the Walden Velo sportive, ripping up the tour route. I'll be in Chelmer colours.

3] Monday, after it's all over, I'll head down to Gt Waltham from my 'Tourmaker' base at Rayne, hope to meet up with you lot and find some beer left  ;D

Cool you know where I live.

Tomorrow evening anyone?

Forward planning: I'm Dun-Dun-DunRunning on Saturday night [and Sunday morning] - any takers for a Dunmow start [and back - about 180 miles] or similar?

We've done the Compasses recently...

How about the Viper as a Del-friendly venue?

I'm still up for a ride, but can't hang about, as I have to drive Mrs T in to work quite early tomorrow.

Viper it is then?

Tomorrow Jake and I have to make sausage rolls for the Youth Club social, but assuming we get it done promptly after school I should be free........

Very unlikely to be out to play this week due to having to be in That London and RL with the Current Mrs H currently languishing in a Broomfield bed with some complaint of appendicitis or some such
Next week is even more unlikely due to other reasons...I'll be losing my Alps legs at this rate  ::-)

GWS, Mrs H.....

My Alps legs have had a thorough thrashing on Sunday [and still hurt] - getting to Dunwich at 04:45.....but then if I will ride with someone 20 years younger and with serious racing credentials too  ::-) - ok, young Alex is recovering from a virus, but then I gave blood on Thursday, which may have capped my efforts a bit.

Bunch hopping was good fun though  :)

Forward planning alert: this Wednesday for a ride?? Bring your diaries and we'll see if we can find suitable dates in the autumn for the 'PBP Seminar'.

I will, unusually, be on the correct side of the Atlantic on Wednesday.

Depending on time zone respecting Americans I'll probably be able to attend, even if it's a direct raid on the Compasses.

mrs_o: "You know I'm out tomorrow night don't you?"

Oaky: "Nope."

mrs_o: "It's on the calendar."

It looks like I'm not coming out to play on Wednesday after all.

I am enjoying some sunshine in Cyprus this week. Just the thought of cycling in this heat is making me want a drink.

When Mrs O visited Mrs H earlier child minding services were offered for the price of a lift between respective abodes, as Mrs H is currently recuperating and on the caveat that Acorns don't jump on her!

Ironically, since I wrote the above, I have had to book a babysitter anyway, but not to come out on the MEMWNS. Instead, it's for a specialist appointment regarding my recent blood pressure etc. issues (I finally got the go ahead from the private medical insurers to book an appointment, and there was one going tomorrow evening!).
