My suggestion= Bungate Wood, nr Pattiswick:

- Not too far from Witham/Centre of Gravity

- Accessible via C.O.R. [byway]: Ambridge Road [Coggeshall] or via Pattiswick/Stisted

- About 1/2 mile from the nearest dwelling

- Pub and CURRY options in Coggeshall

- Though...it is very remote, by Essex standards and last time I passed through in the evening, I suspected it might be a dogging site, though that may be another recommendation to some

Disaster on that front. Took Mrs C. there last week for her birthday and ITS CHANGED HANDS! No more delicious jalfrezi or brussel sprout bhajis.

To cut a long story short we ended up in Wetherspoons.........

Back to this week, we have the Three Elms in Chignal St James on the calendar for Wednesday. There is no live music on this week, some will be pleased to hear.

As an aside, there is a Petanque club based at the pub, and they encourage people to join in on good Saturday afternoons. Could be an alternative activity to try out when (if) the weather gets warmer.

If you bring your kindling cap, I'll find a old termite nest and we can light that to keep the mozzies away from you. No idea what you do about slugs.
Salt...a nice big ring of salt.

As much as I like the idea of the Bivvy I don't think I can handle that and working the following day. It used to be my pet hate in the Swiss Army when we would bivvy and there was a time limit to how long you could sleep  ;D

Haha that's good timing seeing as I won't have had time to get any tea potentially before I head over to the pub.

We still agree on the 'Sun' at Feering for tomorrow? Should suit the Eastern Fringe...about 20 miles for me each way.

Might have time to go exploring down Dagnets Lane, now it's dried out?

I’m temporarily Eastern as opposed to normally being Mid.

Who would be stupid enough to live so far east they would need to consult a tide table !

So far our extreme caravanning has been confined to snow, I’d rather not add tidal flooding. Anyhow...

I shall be starting from Colchester this evening, not Spa Road. Do any of the Eastern Contingent fancy meeting up somewhere to ride to the pub?  If so where?

A Witham departure proposed route adaptation of a previous visit to the Sun @ Feering, somewhat shortened for a 9pm ETA.
