Where were you?

Too far from the centre of the universe for me last night

Er, you appear to be deluded.  You're not at the centre of the universe!

If I were you I’d get an e-bike to extend your range.

I’m not, but the centre is somewhat to the west of Colchester. Mind you, I’m looking forward to heading your way in a couple of weeks. Easier at a weekend.

Who is the web content manager for acme.bike? I was going to point somebody to the website to let them know what is going on in the area, but the content was looking too dated and sparse. Shouldn’t take much to get appropriate content in place. The page I was going to link to was the calendar events.

Agreed - it's a bit tricky to point people to the winter series as it's still showing the 2018 last ride as current.  I suspect Jan has ben a bit busy of late

We can let him off. Maybe he’ll have more time when he retires  :)

OK folks, so I'm opening the doors at Chez Brunner on the 21st September to get everyone that can make it together as a bit of a post PBP bash (hopefully most of the mental scarring is receding now). I'm aware it clashes with Phil W's rides but it's the only weekend that I can really do and Catherine is away with the eldest daughter so she 'suggested' it was a good time to do it.

I'll sponsor some beer (a couple of Mini Pins or similar) and some soft drinks. I will also supply some Burgers/Sausages, rolls and a bit of green stuff. The BBQ will be there for use if you want to bring other stuff along and cook it yourself and feel free to bring along anything else that might work at a BBQ. Basically it's a bit of a DIY session.

Partners, Children, Pets all welcome and for those that want to ride over (even if it's mid DIY), there will be room in the garage and the garden for bikes.

If you would be so kind as to ping me a quick PM to let me know if you want to come so I can judge supplies it would be appreciated. The gates will open at 12 noon but feel free to drop in whenever it works for you.

And now for something completely different

How about kicking 2020 off with something a bit different; a chance to use that 'gravel' bike you may have acquired in the recent past. Forget about the UK winter, head south. Indeed, a £35 ferry crossing gets you to Caen, and the start of the Normandicat Gravel.

The ride is on Sunday 12th January, but there will be some things going on during the Saturday. Interested? It's only 150km.

http://normandicat.com/gravel-2020/

Registration for Normandicat Gravel opens on 1st November. Last year the limited places went within a few hours. So if you're interested, make a note of that date.

OD, are you back by then, before the wall is built?

Just thinking ahead, from discussions with others on Facebook there were a couple of pubs with camping in Suffolk identified.... would there be any interest in a November camp night for ACME/MEMWNS ?
