I've called it far worse things too, notably when it sent me a text at 3am* to tell me my card was about to expire.  Which I knew.  Because it's written on the front of the card.

* I was in Canada.  I told them I was going to Canada, and when I was going to be not in Canada any more.

Our copy of the Radio Times arrived today, when it usually arrives on Tuesdays.

Crap.
Two items received today, 2nd delivery in May.
Still no Graze box, no battery that vendor states was despatched on 27 April.
Goodness knows what else is missing.

Our first hand-delivered pizza leaflet since the lockdown began arrived just now.  Normally we'd average at least one clubbing/takeaway/taxi/mistake agent spam per day (there's a reason our paper recycling box lives by the front door).

Our post has been completely normal. It's not even delivered by Kevin Costner. Our postie does work shorts even in the snow though.

Is there some rule that takeaway menus have to come from places some distance away. Sure, I can order a pizza from a place 6 miles away, but I don't think they'll actually want to deliver it.

We've had few pizza leaflets but Just Eat does reveal some takeaways that are open and which are delivering.

My Graze box arrived today, 9 days late.
Batteries I ordered two days ago have arrived from Scotland.

The battery I ordered three weeks ago has not arrived and I have a refund.

SNAFU...

You know, it's only just occured to me, I don't get takeaway menus here. After living in studentville of Canterbury where we got loads all the time, I should have noticed it before now.

I just use justeat.nl...

Package arrived yesterday from China, ordered 24th of April.

At the moment for obvious reasons my GP's surgery isn't dishing out hearing aid batteries. You have to get in touch with the audiology department at the local hospital.
I phoned them on Wednesday, the batteries arrived this morning, before ten. I suppose the Jiffy bag may have counted as a parcel rather than a letter, hence the Saturday delivery, but that is about as fast as I would expect under any circumstances.

How does that work in the post given royal mail don't accept lithium batteries in their system?

I bought a load of Lithium Manganese batteries from RS a while ago.
RM delivered them.

They're not lithium, they are zinc-air non-rechargeable.

If any hearing aid battery user is having issues getting batteries from usual sources, this charity http://www.cssef.org.uk/covid-19.html is sending batteries to folk for free and I'm told they're pretty quick.

I need to re-audit my stash as this **** of a hearing aid only gives me 10 days a pop (last two usually lasted 22-23).

I was expecting a parcel yesterday, got the tracking emails. But by 2200 it hadn't appeared. I went downstairs to check my mail box for a card, mailbox empty. Hmmm. Coming up I decided to get out of the lift one floor early and walk up some stairs. Open lift door, my parcel is on the floor outside my neighbour. Off by one error...

I, on the other hand, was not expecting a parcel so was somewhat puzzled to find a Jiffy bag on the mat, which I found to contain a copy of "Water Ways by one Jasper Winn.  From Blackwell's.  Which I most certainly had not ordered.  Careful perusal of the accompanying paper finally revealed it to be a present from Professor Larrington

Just received two packages from the postman, who kindly came up and delivered them to me by hand, rather than leaving them on the mail box downstairs as some of his colleagues do. Both from aliexpress, the two packages were ordered on 2020-05-29 and 2020-04-12. Yet both arrived together. I appear to have a couple of dozen more packages en route from china still.

China's probably going to be late because a) factories and warehouses were locked down b) flights out of China mostly carrying essential medical equipment c) for surface transport, containers were in short supply due to being "locked down" in the wrong place (eg containers in LA couldn't get back to Shanghai due to Calilockdown). In addition to all the normal reasons of course!

These are all stock items, so no issues with a). The issue with b is that a lot of mail travelled in the hold of commercial passenger planes, and there aren't many of them.

Got 3 packages from China this morning, 2 packages from California, and when I opened my mail box, I found a package from the UK.

The later contained a pair of gloves. They were shipped on 27th of November 2019. They arrived today... That's impressive...

That's Royal Mail's new EcoPost. Items are carried by a small barefoot boy herding unruly goats in the general direction of the recipient, eating only porridge (for the boy) and whatever they want (for the goats).  Large bodies of water present an obvious difficulty, as do wolves.
