Can't remember the last time I cried at work, other than crying with laughter when Mary bought boots without realising one was a 6 and one was a 9 and then wondered why they felt different. You get into a mindset where you can appreciate situations are awful and you want to fix them, but you remain a little bit detached. On the other hand, several of us have had work-stress flakies lately and I'm the latest.

It was the best thing that's ever happened at work.

Trinitrin patches now.  "They'll probably give you a headache but don't take anything for it because then you won't know if your heart is hurting". And yes they did and yes it does if I start hauling the garden hose about. And they itch too.

This staying-alive business is a pain in the ass. I'm not telling them, though, because they'd probably give me a Tabasco suppository for it.

Apparently it's possible to fracture a rib through sneezing too hard. I was wondering why my left chesticle was hurting quite a bit.  Doc confirmed fracture (or fractures) today. Bother!

Wondering vaguely if a 15mg/day nitroglycerin patch wouldn't make an emergency tyre boot. They look big enough.

Having the first of three appointments for a root canal, crown and (different tooth) filling replacement in an hour. The rest over the next month. This is going to suck.

It might not be too bad. IBTDT0TS.

I hope the inconvenience/expense are the worst features!

actually it wasn't too bad, and the crown might wait six months or so. back in two weeks but I think I've had the worst of it.

Not so bad. Charles has had to wait 60-odd years.

Poor old Inlaw Paw is suffering from a triple whammy: depressed thyroid function, ditto kidneys (although 40% is par for a 99-yr-old) and an as yet unspecified infection, hence the serious oedema filling up his legs.  Doc has been brilliant, though, and after this morning's visit things should slowly improve - "but you're in for a bad week".

Also had a natter about my hearty problems. The aim is to get me back on the bike and right now I get angina just running up the stairs, so he agreed that things weren't exactly ideal and we should plan an angioplasty asap even though it will involve occluding a minor subnet.  Since I haven't felt any loss of strength during even severe angina the loss of function will be minimal and I'll be able to get back on the road instead of acting the loppy stocking round here.

To add to the pile my son has just been diagnosed with T2 diabetes, at the same age as I was.

It's all cheer at Maison T42.

Life presents a dismal picture
Home's as gloomy as the tomb
Poor old Dad has got a stricture
Mother has a fallen womb
Brother Bob has been deported
For a homosexual crime
And the housemaid's been aborted
For the forty-second time.

Well that was brilliant.
Wait nearly 2 months for appointment with neurologist. Suddenly get early appointment due to cancellation. Go to appointment. "Where is MrsC? Why isn't she here?" "Um, I wasn't told she needed to be here." "Well I need to speak to her as well, there isn't much point you coming in by yourself."

Well, doctor, nobody told me what the appointment was for, or that anyone needed to come with me. What a bloody waste of your and my time. Was I supposed to be a mind reader?

Having had a giant cell tumour removed from the knuckle of my left-hand ring finger a few years ago, I've been noticing similar swellings and tenderness in the knuckles of the middle and index fingers of the same hand...  :-\  Might pay my GP a visit...

Cardio yest. Good news is that my coronary arteries still retain 70% of nominal capacity. Bad news is that, like global warming, some bits are much worse off than others and some are getting worse fast despite rigid adherence to diet.  Change of meds was best cardiologist could do without consulting surgeons.

Just now I'm on nitro patches and stress or heart > 100 bpm triggers angina, so switching today to a different vasodilator that he thinks might allow me to ride. Looking at its properties I have my doubts.

Hoping to learn on Monday whether I can have an angioplasty.

two weeks ago today: root canal.

today: temporary crown.

two weeks' time: proper crown, and a filling replacement.
