Dean,

It's hard to believe the contradiction between Paradise Fields (the name) and the ironworks which stood there in Witton Park.  My great grandfather moved there to work as a puddler and my great-aunts (one of whom I called Grandma because she adopted my Dad) were born there in King Street.  I never found this out until decades after the only time I visited Witton Park.  Maybe we could factor it into a ride?!

Helgeland bridge at Sandnessjøen was today's only bridge.  Off in the distance, in terrible light, I'm afraid I haven't got any decent pics  :(

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helgeland_Bridge refers, if that helps...

Kristiansund last night, complete with urban orange glow reflecting off the cloud.  Not had that for a while.

An old one

Foot bridge in Bilbao. It has a glass walkway which is disconcerting in summer and lethal in winter.

There's no point posting that photo Dean.  The bridge is exactly the same as the one in I posted above.

I bin amalgamating Stuffs on the NAS.  Mucho photos still to be investigated, but I found these among the pics of the BHPC trip to Belgian Flanders at Easter 2004:

Lift bridge in Oudenaarde. I think Salvatore has done this one too.

Same bridge but with added Barge

This bridge was not built...

Rubbish picture, I know, but I didn't take it.  I think my FLJS chum Samfast may ultimately be responsible.

A couple of Boxing Day bridges.

Greta Bridge (it's the bridge over the Greta at Greta Bridge - they get their use out of their names round there):

And Egglestone Abbey Bridge over the Tees:

Ruthie and I planned to cycle from Darlington to Durham today, but the cold blattery rain and the NW headwind soaked all our enthusiasm away. Instead we went for a walk. I particularly wanted to find a bridge I'd seen on Google Earth, the giveaway had been the shadow of the arches on the River Wear. A bit of research and we found it was Belmont Railway Viaduct. Along the way we saw some other bridges and Ruthie tells me that every bridge counts. Have these been posted here before?

More details of the walk are written up in this (advert free) journal.
