Caen Veol cycle hire scheme

I was pretty impressed with the scheme and the bikes



I don't think it could happen here due to vandalism, but I hope I'm wrong.  I thought the shaft drive mechanism was interesting.

I had my bike with me.  I was also impressed with the respect that cyclists get from drivers, not only on the open road but in the city as well.

Ah! Merci beaucoup for that - I'm off to Caen next month for a week (OU French Summer School) so it might just be just the job for a bit of extra-curricular excersize :thumbsup:. I've googled the website    http://www.veol.caen.fr/   however it's all in francais (but google translate is your friend).
