Mr. Eck was spotted yesterday riding through Banchory accompanying a couple of Young Ladies on bikes.

Well, technically, he spotted me. I wouldn't have noticed, being in a daze as I usually am.

Also Charlotte the Nissan Leaf, possibly the least noisy car I have ever encountered
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

I was stopped at the junction of Chesham Road and Coombe Road on a black Allez wearing a purple yacf jersey and a blue baseball cap.  I think you were looking ahead to the main road junction and may not have registered me.

Ah. Thank you. I did clock the cyclist waiting at the junction and may even have detected the faintest flicker of a smile as I went past, but I didn't spot the yacf top, apologies. Must try harder next time.

Sorry, Ham, we didn't see you yesterday. Mind you, we Leafers get a lot of petrol heads who gesticulate, flash their lights and shout "You don't pay road tax!"

Spotted Jedrik in friend Rolf's garden in Schwalmtal today.

We rode a very equitable distance for the meeting - me 30km, her 100km. And then we both rode back.

Bet you get people splaining[1] at you about how you never see electric cars because they can't climb hills travel a decent distance on a charge, too.   ;)

I don't get the splaining thing either.  In fact, I don't think I've ever come across that word before.  ???
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

For the sake of amusement here's the chain of consciousness that went around that particular spot.

We've recently exited the 50 mph controlled zone, as I  am on a mission (returning MiL to Cov) I accelerate gently (in contrast to most for whom it is the most important thing in the world to go FAST now) and I observe to my satisfaction that these days there are more cars that travel happily on the motorway at 55 ish than there ever were. There's one, in fact it looks like a Nissan Leaf - on the motorway! Wow (the other sort). Times are changing, I must tell Wow (that sort).... Oh.

Cue pulling in front, slowing, switching on hazards, waving arm  in a manner that was wither waving or beating a passenger to death etc before driving off. One assumes that fam. Bagger were collectively engaged paying attention to the electric gauges rather than the road. In their defence my rear window is steeply raked so it may not have been easy to see the gesticulation. Or the waving come to that.

And no, splaining isn't in my vocab except as a contraction to explaining.

Oh, right. Indeed apt in circumstance.

HK in Ladbroke Grove - I was negotiating the speed hump in Royal Crescent as she sped off the other way, so not even a chance to shout hello.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Spotted roffa in Venlo.

He sold me my velomobile but was riding a very normal, sensible Fahrradmanufaktur bicycle but with shiny shiny front SON dynohub and rear Rohloff.
